But all these delays are absolutely worthwhile when you finally sit down to eat. Lunch was perfect with clever and interesting food from start to finish, a wine list with some surprises to explore, and keen and friendly staff to ease you into the mood. Surrey is special largely because it has so few really good restaurants. But Sorrel would be seen as excellent in the centre of London or anywhere else. Adjusting for this "county effect" means that it deserves several more stars on its rating if they were available. Really very good indeed.

I went to Drakes in Ripley a few times but I think I prefer Sorrel... and it's reasonably priced too!! I would recommend getting a table soon - before the Michelin stars start to rain down!!!
